Awesome!
I just love it! This coffe maker has a light that comes on when you press the dispense lever, nice to have when you cant open your eyes till the first cup, no more guessing if your cup is almost filled. The water reservoir can be taken out so you can bring it to the sink to fill, no more spilling water on the counter trying to aim water in a small opening. It has automatic shut off but you have to set it to turn off in 1-3 hrs once you set it, it will automatically shut off at the hours set. Make sure you do this or you will smell burnt coffee, especially if there is maybe just a little coffee left in maker, I think the default was 3hrs when I found this out. I set mine to shut off at 1hr. A blue light shows that it's on. I am so happy with this coffee maker. The area your cup sit in is not very big but that's okay with me, it fits all my small to extra medium mugs. If you want bigger go with the Cuisinart SS700. The SS700 will be my next coffee maker I want when this one is worn out. I love Cusinart!!! -- By Nansea

So, my review is to the many people that didn't read the manual and see that if you are only making a few cups of coffee there is a 1-4 cups select button so the coffee is stronger because with a small amount of water running through it there is an extra demand on the maker I just made the best cup of coffee I've had in 3 years with my new cuisinart coffee on demand. First I ran 12 cups of water through the machine after soaking my filter for 20 minutes. Set the machine to 1-4 cups and pressed on. I did , because of past experience but an xtra bit of water in the machine to account for coffee filter basket saturation. The result was a really piping hot cup of rich coffee that allowed me to add a bit of non dairy creamer in it and not reduce the temperature. They include a manual so people will read it, please don't comment on a machine that works properly until you don't use it according to design. -- By Keith Robberding (Daly City, Ca United States)
Better than I expected
I purchased this coffee maker as a Christmas present. I had done a little bit of research prior to my purchase. What attracted me to this particular model was the detachable water reservoir. Other reviewers had indicated that the coffee gauge was sort of gimmicky. I happen to like it. I also like the light that activates when you depress the coffee dispenser tab. Initially, we were unsure on how to drain the reservoir but finally figured out that there is a pour hole on one side for easier draining. This coffee maker has more bells and whistles than an old-style, glass-decanter-type system that brews and nothing else. I would recommend the DCC-3000 to any serious coffee drinkers. -- By Cowhead
